't appeared because it has been over this fiscal cliff. kudos on fox business for the headline of story coming out of washington congress will meet on sunday this coming weekend that. is definitely took us off our low. we had a major rally on that. 10 handles on the s.o.p.s we watched down here. it was a painful trade there for a couple of hours. ashley: ben, very quickly up until now the market hasn't really reacted to the fiscal cliff but seems today it really sort of kicked in. did the market get it wrong up to this point? >> the fear is we may have got it wrong. market as i've been saying for a while believes in fact we will have a resolution so we will not go over the cliff. the recent commentary maybe has been there will be a patch so we'll get it done by early january. the comments by mr. reid today. the ball was thrown into his court by mr. boehner who failed with his party, the expectation was mr. reid would have something positive to say the tape sent a clear message to washington, you got it wrong and if you continue to do this. ashley: daniel, what struck you about today's session?

the looming fiscal cliff, at least based on what they were saying. still, with so much uncertainty in washington, what will the markets look like tomorrow? let's break it all down. so, lots of market expectations on a deal. some good, some bad. alan, why don't you give your expectations on how you think stocks are going to open up tomorrow, based on what we have heard so far today? >> well, i thought it was an amazing come back we saw today. we you have a the bonds up half a percent, so, the safety buying was not sustained. we saw the market come all the way back and apple moved positive. i'm rather optimistic. we went up 5% in the s&p, going into this. going into this week. and i think that you've got to realize, this is the most analyzed fiscal situation in the history of the world. so, this is not a surprise. i'm still very positive. i'm looking for the s&p to rally, 130 points, which was the distance of that selloff that we saw to get up to 1600 once again and i look for it to go higher. >> jim, the house reconvenes sunday night. the senate squabbling right now. the president's

reading in part, the house has acted on two bills which collectively would avert the entire fiscal cliff if enacted. those bills await action by the senate if the senate will not approve and send them to the president to be signed into law in their current form. they must be amended and returned to the house. the house will take this action on whatever the senate can pass, but the senate must first act. the house has passed bills that would never pass the senate. speaker boehner's position is a joke. senate majority leader harry reid responded, house republicans pushed middle class families closer to the blip by wasting an entire week with their incompetent plan b stunt no further legislation can move through the senate until republicans drop their knee jerk obstruction. the house is literally phoning it in, tomorrow's conference call will reportedly include the entire caucus, not just republican leadership, the irony is that if we go over the cliff, the president will get whatever he wants on texas, and there's been a growing acknowledgement of this by some house and senate republicans.
